On Friday, November 10th, we arrived at school at 7:45 a.m.. From 8:00 to 8:55 we had Georgia History and Slang Class with Mr. McCurdy. He talked about how big the states in America are. After the lesson, all German students helped at the Germanfest preparations. We put all the flags from German speaking countries on the wall of the gym. The Germanfest was for all Walker students who wanted to see German traditions. They could taste some German food like pretzels, potatoes and Sauerbraten and German drinks like Spezi (Fanta and Coke ) and Apfelschorle (apple juice and sparkling water). We also prepared a large selection of desserts. For the younger Walker students we prepared two German games to show them what we used to play in our childhood. At the Germanfest we played some different kinds of German music, also some Carnival music. The Germanfest was finished at 2 p.m. We think the Germanfest was a lot of fun, because we enjoyed to show American students some of the German traditions.
